This week marked a milestone for Ayrshire College as it opened the doors of the new Kilmarnock Campus to students. Covering 183,000 square feet and extending over 4 floors, the start of the art education facility offers courses ranging from Construction to Hair, Beauty and Art. The new build also boasts and extensive support infrastructure, with administrative areas, restaurant, beauty salons, 3G pitch, sports hall and an NHS approved ward layout in the health department.
In partnership with McLaughlin & Harvey, Stothers successfully delivered the full mechanical and electrical installation package. The electrical and mechanical installation comprises of a sophisticated installation providing the College with modern training facilities.
The project has a heavily serviced installation achieving BREEAM excellent The installation has a number of energy efficient building services technologies including BMS control system for all mechanical plant, Biomass boiler, rain water harvester, electrical monitoring energy meters, lighting and emergency lighting monitoring system with daylight dimming, photovoltaic system & LED lighting. Other systems include PA & sound systems, IPTV digital signage and reception video wall, feature lighting, Air conditioning, ICT system, IP CCTV and door access systems.
The contract highlighted the importance of programs, deadlines, weekly progress reports, coordination, per- commissioning, commissioning and a commitment to provide client satisfaction.
