The Darwin Shopping Centre is the largest of the three main shopping centres in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England, comprising approximately 17 per cent of the town centre’s retail offer by leasable area.
The centre was constructed in 1989 and Stothers was recently involved with the project team in delivering a site wide refurbishment on the centre and retail units.
The design and build project was delivered over multiple levels within the existing infrastructure, working side by side with the other trades. Crucial to the success of this project was the close working relationship between our team, centre management team and the incumbent tenant to successfully deliver the very clear vision of the client.
Throughout the renovation period, it was crucial that works did not interfere with business and the day to day running of the centre. This was achieved through careful planning between the project and the centre management teams, with works undertaken out of hours due to the high foot fall count during working hours to deliver an impressive “modernised” look throughout the malls.
