FAS Project – Corporate Office Headquarters and Technical Workshop Development at Thiepval Barracks, Lisburn
This project comprised the design and construction of a new headquarters facility for 40th Regiment Royal Artillery and 19 Light Brigade. It consisted of a major redevelopment of existing roads and infrastructure and the provision of 14,000 m² of prestigious corporate office accommodation, purpose built state-of-the-art technical accommodation, food and beverage facilities, heavy industrial workshops, garaging, and stores together with sports facilities. Site works comprised considerable car parking, a new access road and paved areas together with drainage and infrastructure.
Key Facts
- The project delivered 7 buildings within the Barracks
- Thiepval is a fully operational MOD barracks, thus the project entailed meticulous client liaison, traffic management proposals together with a fully vetted (CRB/CTC) workforce/supply chain.
- Specialist installations included overhead cranes, fume extraction, compressed air installations, waste oil removal facilities, rolling road installation, solar water heating, fibre optic links and lifts.
- The project achieved a DREAM Excellent rating (BREEAM equivalent) and the site was awarded Performance Beyond Compliance under the Considerate Constructors scheme.
