The building provides specialist mental health, addiction, learning disability and acquired brain injury services, primarily for the people of Liverpool, Sefton, Kirkby and the wider footprint of Merseyside.
Hartley Hospital provides two 20-bed wards, one for adults the other for older inpatients, needing short-term mental health care and treatment, as well as an assessment suite. A range of community services and outpatient clinics are also being co-located there for the first time.
The new building also contains a café, family visiting room, multi-faith area and internal garden courtyards. All patient bedrooms are single with en-suite bathrooms with several therapy and activity areas including two gyms.
- We worked in close co-ordination with the project designers and consultants to provide the complex with a robust mechanical and electrical services installation taking into consideration the secure nature of the site and the unique challenges that this entailed such as anti-ligature equipment and fittings.
- The project consisted of a high concentration of complex mechanical and electrical services such as staff attack and nurse call system, CCTV, access control and renewable energy systems.
